Pre-development is the first squad that swimmers move into to begin race training rather than badge work. Generally swimmers in this squad are between 8 & 11 years old, with most training at least twice a week. There are opportunities to race in club colour galas, splash nights and novice league. Emphasis is given to improving swimmers strokes as well as fitness.
Development squad comprises mainly of swimmers 10 to 12 years old swimming several times per week. Squad members should be aiming for County Championship qualifying times in their best strokes and will have opportunities to swim in novice league events, level 3 open meets and inter-club galas
Pre-squad is generally for swimmers in the 12 to 14 year age range who are training and competing regularly.
Squad is for the fastest swimmers in the club who will be training several times a week or more. Generally swimmers in this squad are 14 to 18 years old and compete in multiple events at the county championships. Squad swimmers will also attend level 2 open meets, and represent the club in inter club galas and leagues.
The Wareham pool is located at Purbeck Sports Centre in Worgret Road. This is the main base for the club, with swimming taking place there on Sunday and Monday evenings as well as Saturday morning.
Swimming in Swanage takes place at the vista pool, located within Swanage Bay View Holiday Home Park. The club currently only uses this pool on Thursday evenings.
The Bovington pool is a 25m pool with 4 lanes. Training takes place here on Wednesday evenings – for further information please contact one of the club officials.
